Description: High tides and Alaskan storms combine with blue skies to create spectacular seascapes in La Jolla in the winter.  Here, huge waves pound the jetty at The Children's Pool in La Jolla, leaving the tip of the jetty cut off and seeming to float amid the surging storm surf like a drifting ship.  The morning sun striking the white foam and illuminating the rusted iron railings adds to the power of the scene, which is further enhanced by a slightly rough rendering technique that highlights surfaces and textures.
