Artists Description:  On very rare occasions, a extra high leap tide combined with storms out over the Pacific Ocean, create perfect conditions for generating huge surf at Coronado Beach, across the bay from San Diego, California. This rare condition was captured by photographer Oscar G Medina along with the historic Hotel Del Coronado. The Del Coronado is the setting for the movie "Some Like It Hot", starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon. Coronado Beach is consistently voted one of the top 10 beaches in the America, year after year.  This photograph served as the inspiration for an original watercolor painting.
