Artist's Description:  This trio of painting tries to capture the ebb and the flow, which makes the transition from one panel to the next the most important part. I painted this over three days, late into the nite, and utilized brushes and a palette knife to get the effect just right.  The Japanese have a concept in art and music called “The space between” , the thought is you would not  hear the drum beat except for “the silence between” in music. In a painting it is often what you don’t paint, the “negative space” that makes the painting so beautiful. Color is best seen when it is  set apark by the dark. The lesson is to look at “the space between” in art to fully appreciate the transition. Completed January 2007.
