Artist's Description: Belly dance is an ancient art, quite beautiful. This  piece was done at the time I was studying the ancient art of belly dance. The movements of the dancer are slow, and graceful, and the painting suggests the swirl of silk and the dancer’s long hair in relation to the figure itself. The painting is acrylic, and I used brushes, a palette knife and my own fingers to get the effect I was after on the canvas as I worked. In the dance, the expression comes from within, and it is very beautiful to watch.
